Stop Motion Animation

This hands-on art + stop motion animation camp enables a group of up to 12 students to have an immersive experience creating fully realized animated films while being charged with learning how to use professional-grade filmmaking software and equipment.

Working in small, collaborative production groups, we will follow the animated filmmaking process from concept and design to building sets and characters and finally stop motion animation production. Using professional grade stop motion software "DragonFrame Stop Motion", campers will bring their visions to life and even get a chance to get in front of the camera themselves during "pixilation" exercises (the animation of a living subject).

Join us for a week of Monster Mania! Young filmmakers in this hands-on Stop Motion animation filmmaking camp will design one of a kind quirky monsters using a variety of art methods and materials. Next, working in small production groups, they will bring their creations to life using DSLR cameras and professional grade software "DragonFrame Stop Motion". Next, they will record their own sound effects and voice overs. FInally, we will get the campers in FRONT of the lens during a "Pixilation" exercise (the animation of living subjects). The finished collaborative films will be edited together with sound and music and will be shared via online link.
